Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone. I just wanted to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving today because I couldn't wait! These are some of the things I am thankful for:

  • my family
  • my friends
  • Chloe (my dog)
  • my furry brown sweater (thanks, Nana :D)
  • the way the grass smells after a good, hard, rain
  • mint candies
  • Microsoft Word
  • my NookColor and the My Writing Spot App
  • my education
  • my furry WHITE sweater (no idea who gave me this)
  • my school playground
  • my blog viewers and followers (you guys!)
Those are most of the things I am thankful for. I probably missed or forgot a few, but that's okay! I am going to be SUPER busy these next few days so expect a post on maybe Tuesday or Saturday. Bye and have a great Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for?

Pokémon

It seems that everyone at my school loves Pokémon. Trading cards, movies, stuffed animals! I got over that phase a while ago, but I still really like the video game.
I currently have Pokémon Black Version and Pokémon Diamond Version, but that's just because I don't have a  2DS or 3DS. I plan to sell my old one so I can get some of the newer Pokémon games and still use my old ones.
The redone Ruby and Sapphire games just came out! They're called "Omega Ruby," and "Alpha Sapphire." I'm SO exited and I'll definitely play them. Well, probably just "Alpha Sapphire" because I also want to get the "X" version. Or "Y." Whichever has Xerneas in it. It's probably "Y" because in Black Version you get a white legendary and in White Version you get a black legendary.
My favorite Pokémon of all time is Flareon, although I've never personally owned one. It's my user picture, for heaven's sake!
My favorite Pokémon
They are SO cute. I really like this picture because it looks like a sweet little baby Flareon.  I will add some other Flareon pictures at the bottom.
These are my Top 5 Favorite Pokémon:
5. Lillipup and all of its evolutions make great counterparts to your starter in battle, especially if your starter faints.
4. Times will change and so will my team, but there's one Pokémon that I know will never leave my team, and that's my starter, Tepig. It's a great fire-type that's a great addition to any trainer's inventory.
3. The first Pokémon card I ever received was a Deerling from one of my friends. I had no idea what it was until two years later! But even though now I don't have that card anymore, I still remember that pretty little green card that I would read over and over.
2. Reshiram is my favorite legendary. I think you can guess by now that my favorite type is fire!
1. Flareon. I love it I love it I love it!
I hope you enjoyed this post. Keep checking for new ones!

P.S. Here are some Pokémon links:

Glaceon and Flareon, two of the Eevee evolutions.
Not as cute as the other ones, but it works.

How To Start Your Own Blog

Hi everyone! Today's post is about how to start your own blog. A blog is a unique way to communicate your thoughts and feelings to other people using the internet (excuse the big words). What I'm saying is that if you like collecting stuffed bears (or Pokémon cards, or antique toothbrushes, you get the idea) than you can create a blog about all of your stuffed bears. Or if you have a business making stuffed bears, you can make a blog with special updates about your business.
1: Creating Your Blog
I made my blog using Blogger, a really cool thingy created by google. All you need is a gmail account. Then you can use Blogger to create your blog. Choose a fabulous name and URL! Tip: Have your blog URL correspond with your blog title. If you have an animal blog, it doesn't make sense to call it "thefashionspot.blogspot.com". Now why on earth would you do that? :)
2: Designing Your Blog
Okay, so now you have your blog created. Now let's make it the best dressed site in the web! First, go to the tab in the blog updating part labeled "Template". Choose the blog background you want and save it. Then, optionally, click on "customize" and choose a font and/or color. Now go to "layout" and select "Add a Gadget". Click it and then scroll down the options until you find the option "Text". Now click on it and write a short bio about yourself. Repeat the process but instead of clicking on "Text" click on "Poll". Now make a poll like this:
Did You Like The Blog?
Yes
No
You see, viewers love a say in any blog. I know I do! I have a corresponding poll with every post.
You can use the same methods to add video bars, popular post links, blog stats, google plus easy follow buttons, etc. Tip: Don't clog your blog with layout stuff! Find a neat way to organize everything.
3: Your First Post
I know it's tempting, but don't start your first post on whatever you plan to blog about. Use this post to explain why you made the blog, and make a longer bio about yourself.
I hope this post helped you create your blog. Have fun blogging!

My School Book Fair Haul

Every year at my school we have a Scholastic book fair. And this year I took all my saved up money and thought "Well, Christmas isn't too far away, so I guess I'll buy some stuff."
And I did.
This is a detailed list of the things I got:

  1. A book called "Cleopatra In Space". A surprisingly good comic about the ancient Egypt princess Cleopatra that is teleported into a futuristic land. Read it if you ever get the chance!
  2. Minecraft: Essential Handbook. This book is a detailed guide of Minecraft, part of the Minecraft Official Handbook series. Perfect for a newbie, but I recommend the other three guides for experienced players.
  3. A make your own Pom-Pom Pets Kit, which is a guide about how to make adorable little critters out of a fork, some yarn, and some glue on eyeballs. Cute!!
  4. An invisible ink pen. Not much more to say.
  5. Two posters, one Jets themed and one Minecraft themed. I hung them over my bed.
All of this stuff is really cool! If you ever want to buy a book at your book fair though, Cleopatra in Space is REALLY good. Believe it.

Should Notch And Jeb Have Sold Minecraft To Microsoft?

For those of you who don't know what Minecraft is, check this link out and watch this video:Minecraft Tutorial Video. It's a detailed instructional Minecraft video.
Okay, so recently, the programmers of Minecraft, Notch and Jeb, sold it to Microsoft. This post is about:

Should Notch And Jeb Have Sold Minecraft To Microsoft?

Let's examine the pros and cons.
Pros:
Microsoft MIGHT do a good job with it.
It made Notch and Jeb millionaires (they weren't already?).
Cons:
They're going to raise the prices.
They MIGHT NOT do a good job with it.
Hmm....They're equal.
My opinion is:
NO NO NO NO! BAD NOTCH! BAD JEB! Because Microsoft MAY ruin Minecraft! They might make it into a happy sappy lovey dovey game! There will be no monster-hunting fun or pushing other players into lava! So this is what I think:
KEEP YOUR PAWS OFF OF MINECRAFT, MICROSOFT!!
Ella :)
PS. The polls are in and The American Girl of the Year Fan Fave Is Kanani.
